Want to stay cool? You need someone to look up to.

There’s one thing in each of our households that deserves way more credit than it gets. The classic ceiling fan is probably the most underrated electrical appliance in our homes. This out of sight, out of mind wonder product has become such an integral part of our lives that we fail to acknowledge or notice them.
A practical, ergonomically sound and straightforward solution to combat the heat, ceiling fans are extremely purposeful. They create a wind chill effect throughout and keep your family comfortable throughout the heat.
Now for an interesting bit of trivia. Did you know? The wind generated by ceiling fans also makes it more difficult for pests to fly, keeping summer pests at bay. Quite intriguing!
So, if you are thinking of buying a ceiling fan online but have no idea how to go about it, here’s all you need to know. When buying ceiling fans, choosing the right kind of fan can make you and your room cooler than it already is.
Always choose the right blade size. If you want a cooling effect that doesn’t ruffle papers or other items in your home then you should choose a fan with larger blades. They offer comparable cooling at a lower velocity than smaller blades.
Make sure that you carefully size the fan. A fan should be installed 7-9 feet above floors, 10-12 inches below ceilings and at least 18-24 inches from walls. Choose 52-inch fans for rooms up to 400 square feet, 44-inch fans up to 225 square feet, and 42-inch fans up to 144 square feet. And if you have a big room that is longer than 18 feet, you need more than one fan.
If you plan to have excessive fan usage, more than 8 hours, ensure that you choose a fan that is energy efficient.
Last but not least, check if the ceiling fan price is right. However, if you are willing to spend more, you will get a quieter, smoother fan.
Always remember that once you install the fan, more often than not, you are bound to forget about it. Make sure it sticks to the roof and is properly mounted.
